Position: IT developer

Expected timeframe of the employment: November 2020 – June 2021 // 8 months

Type of employment: Consultancy, full time position for 8 months

Job location: Beirut (remote support and face to face if needed)

About the project and the position

A consortium of six organizations, including Médecins du Monde (MdM), Skoun, Abaad, Amel, Embrace and Humanity and Inclusion (HI), along with National Mental Health Program (NMHP), supported by the Agence Francaise de Development (AFD), aims to improve the opportunities for individuals living in Lebanon to enjoy the best possible mental health and wellbeing. The consortium is looking to recruit an IT developer who would transform existing communication materials into online interactive material, that are culturally adapted, accessible and targeting all the people including the most vulnerable. Moreover, the IT developer would be working on existing IT platforms to optimize them, and develop new platform and tools that would help in the project management.

Tasked and duties

• Review of current platforms (modules, sections, sub-sections) and current data structure (databases, data visualizations, and storage) as well as user interface and user experience:
  • Harmonization of the presentation of information and standardization of repetitive functions and variables throughout all the platforms. Example: font, display, sequence, navigation between different platforms, landing platform (UX and UI), site map, view, save, auto-save, and edit,
  • Standardize wireframes used across different platforms,
  • Create standard libraries for future platforms,
  • Optimize speed and scalability of the platforms (including responsive elements and mobile compatibility,
  • Data visualization: advise on generating related reports on data collected. Examples dashboards, data summary pages across platforms, similar to PowerBI, DevExpress, SPSS, Matlab
• Modification of the platforms accordingly,
• Develop new platforms as needed,
• Help in securing a domain and creating what is needed for us to create work email addresses for all the team that they would still use and that we can back-up somewhere for institutional memory. Monitoring user activity between platforms where applicable: link user name and password to the stakeholders. Examples: linking different platforms on 1 user name and password access and privileges, project management tools, HR tools, simple graphical user interface for mapping of services across platforms
• Support the team members with anything related to IT requirements

Education, experience, and relevant skills

• Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field,
• Fluent in Arabic and English,
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar work,
• Experience in design of information systems and reporting systems for web applications,
• Knowledge in C#, C++, Java script, SQL, Dev express, PowerBI,
• Experience in data security and data manipulations,
• Experience in web applications development,
• Good analytical skills and problem solving techniques, and
• Reliability and accountability.
