Consultant-Trainer - Bekaa - For National Candidates Only

Background:

Scope of work

The overall purpose of consultancy is to enhance ROV program members’ communication skills, preexisting skills related to community engagement and reporting. The consultant is requested to design and deliver training packages in Arabic.

Under the supervision of the Protection and Rule of Law Program and in Zahle, the consultant will be expected to deliver a One day training in 4 different areas to members of IRC ROV programs. Training workshops are expected to be onsite initially if feasible, otherwise, delivery would be remotely via Zoom, Skype or Teams. Capacities building workshops of volunteers will emphasis on effective communication and outreach activities with local and refugee communities.  Consultant will sign a confidential agreement to ensure material is not shared with any party other than designated IRC staff.

 

Key deliverables:

  • Undertake virtual survey and needs assessment for the participants to be trained in Arabic.
  • Develop a 5 hours interactive training workshop in Arabic, training plan and all accompanying background materials needed for the delivery of training workshops.
  • The training workshop shall include _but not limited to _ components on:
      1. Effective communication and its different channels,
      2. Social Media Communication,
      3. Outreach activities
  • The training workshop and its materials shall be delivered in Arabic, yet report shall be solely in English.
  • Deliver One-day virtual training workshops for selected volunteers in different areas in North Beqaa. Total number of delivery days is 3.
  • Develop a detailed evaluation of the workshops by the participants so that the workshop/training materials can be improved according to the participant feedback.
  • Develop training workshop agenda in close coordination with IRC Community Engagement Officer, handouts and report(s) underlying covered themes, participants’ progress, and further recommendations.

 

4. Participants

Participants are selected from refugee community in North Beqaa. The total number of participants will be 15-25 in each training day. IRC is responsible for inviting participants and marking their attendance.

 

5. Schedule

The tentative date of the assignment is expected before December 23, 2020. Precise dates will be agreed with IRC_Community Engagement officer and consultant prior to signature of the agreement.

 

Requirements:

  • Preferred holding a degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Social Sciences, Business Administration or related subject.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering capacity building training workshops. Preferably previous experience with online training modality.
  • A creative mindset and the ability to work well under pressure, completing tasks efficiently, and handling tight deadlines
  • Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, prioritize work under pressure.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
  • Ability to work with diverse participant age, gender and cultural groups.
  • Preferable previous experience delivering training to refugees.

 

Payment Mode:

  • Consultant will be charged per day: 3 delivery, 1 preparation and 1 reporting days.
  • IRC will issue payments once the all the deliverables are submitted after 3 days of workshop completion (pre, post evaluation, agenda, handout, report).
