Communication & Coordination Officer (Part Time)

We are looking for a Communication & Coordination Officer for the Junior Leaders project (Part-time; 24 hours per week)

The Junior Leaders project is an informal learning environment for the children of the vulnerable communities of Tripoli and El Mina where they can socialize and receive support on different aspects while providing an opportunity for youth to engage and acquire skills through voluntary work. The two components of the project "Children and Youth" aim at enhancing the cultural and behavioral environment of children from different backgrounds and Improving the civic engagement capacity and skills of youth volunteers. Children and youth are the future, they will carry the "WE LOVE" values of social responsibility, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence, and grow up to work with their community and lead positive change in their city.  "Junior Leaders" is a project within the Local Development Program in North Lebanon (UDP_NL) implemented through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in partnership with We Love and the Ministry of Social Affairs. (UDP_NL) is co-funded by the European Union and Germany.

Duties

• Coordinate project activities, and communicate with volunteers and other beneficiaries
• Follow up with stakeholders on general and specific needs
• Contribute to the dissemination and visibility of project achievements
• Assist in tracking project performance and report, monitor, and follow up on project activities
• Work closely with Project Manager to prepare periodic project reports
• Raise beneficiaries’ concerns and report weekly to the project manager
• Ensuring safety precautions and Covid-19 measures are followed during implementation
• Other tasks as directed by the Project Manager.

Experience

Demonstrated experience in engaging and coordinating community initiatives, managing volunteers, facilitating workshops, and organizing events.

Education

A bachelor degree is desired for this position

Competencies

This position requires the following:

• Good communication skills
• Good decision-making skills, to be able to act independently when needed.
• Good project management, coordination and organizational skills
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team
• Good knowledge of community work and previous experience with We Love or similar organizations is a plus.

Languages

Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English is required.
