Main duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Develop contacts and networks with other development organisations. Identify opportunities for the organisation and involve in acquisition efforts jointly with responsible staff of Head Office
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with stakeholders in the country (civil society, government, private sector, development partners ...)
  • Closely liaise with headoffice in programme development
  • Jointly with Head Office develop a strategy for the Lebanon country programme
  • Provide active support to national partner for the implementation of exisiting projects
  • Establish the new Country Office in Beirut
  • Pursue the registration process of the organisation
  • Establish the new Country Office in Beirut

 

Requirements:

 

  • Master’s Degree in Public Management, Political Science, Social Science, Organizational and Institutional Development or related fields
  • A minimum of 10 years interdisciplinary work experience in development cooperation
  • 8 years work experience in the Middle Eastern Region, preferably Lebanon and Jordan
  • Strong experience in communication, networking and organizational development
  • Experience in planning, process facilitation and organization, networking, project planning, and reporting
  • Experience in advocacy

 

Competencies and skills:

 

  • Language: Fluency in English both written and spoken required, Arabic, both written and spoken
  • Ability to analyse complex political systems and propose meaningful entry points for a development organisation
  • Excellent understanding of organizational systems and their dynamics
  • Excellent skills in process facilitation
  • Results-oriented, highly motivated person
  • Excellent listening and communication skills (with sensitivity to cultural communication differences)
