Education Specialist

 

Ana Aqra Association is an independent non-profit, non-sectarian, non-political organization established in 1994 and works to advance literacy and independent learning for vulnerable children in public schools and out-of-school children.

Ana Aqra is seeking an education specialist to develop, coordinate, and improve education programs, policies and standards, solve education problems, and who is knowledgeable in theories of education and principles of learning that engage students from early childhood to adults. The focus is digitizing e-lessons for early childhood education.

Commencing date: Immediately

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing preschool and (lower) elementary digitized curriculum.
  • Digitizing lessons, creating e-lessons and e-assessments tasks for the early childhood education
  • Conducting observations and evaluations to determine the educational needs of all students being served.
  • Making sure educational materials and e-lesson plans are aligned with the national and international early childhood curriculum.
  • Developing tools to measure the effectiveness of the digitized curriculum.
  • Formulating recommendations and procedures for current and proposed units of instruction for the digitized curriculum.
  • Developing a support program to train and empower teachers/facilitators with remote pedagogy courses, lesson plan templates and teaching methods to encourage blended learning techniques for preschool years.
  • Developing a digitized support program for parents of preschool children.
  • Maintaining records and preparing status reports for the work done.
  • Directing research activities concerned with educational programs and services to determine if program objectives are being met.
  • Attending the project meetings and any other meetings needed to facilitate the program work plan.
  • Compiling and finalizing weekly /monthly reports.

Qualifications

  1. A master’s degree in early childhood education, a specialty in psychology is a plus.
  2. A minimum of five years of teaching experience in preschools.
  3. Knowledgeable in national and international ECE curriculum.
  4. Experience in developing preschool and (lower) elementary curriculum and writing scope and sequence for early childhood education.
  5. Excellent Language proficiency and skills (mastering excellent language skills to design language e-lessons).
  6. Experience in digitizing lessons, creating e-lessons and e-assessments tasks.
  7. Experience in the Primary Years Program (PYP) is an addition.
  8. Strong familiarity with the concept of inclusion and experience in differentiated instructions.
  9. Interpersonal and communication skills.
  10. Ability to facilitate meetings and group events with community groups and educational partners.
  11. Ability to work remotely and/or independently and comply with program guidelines. 
  12. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with target population.
  13. Bilingual (or trilingual): Arabic-English or Arabic-French.
