Social Listening Consultant

• Company or individual with at least 3 years of experience in social listening, particularly within the development sector
• Ability to use social listening to 1) Identify trends in social[1] and traditional[2] media coverage; 2) Detect information gaps and concerns; and 3) Discover and track circulating misinformation and disinformation
• Previous experience in conducting social listening across the MENA region
• Previous experience in social listening using both traditional and social media channels
• Demonstrated experience in conducting social listening through keyword tracking, search strings, measuring conversation volume, rumor tracking, influencer monitoring, and Google alerts
• Ability to develop understandable dashboards to present the data
• Familiarity with the following tools: Hootsuite Insights, CrowdTangle, TweetDeck, Social Mention, Talkwalker Alerts, Meltwater, Cision, Awario, and TVEyes
• Strong understanding of the development sector in the MENA region
• Previous experience conducting social listening within the public health sector a plus
• Fluency in English and Arabic

Examples of Tasks

• Conduct social listening of traditional and social media as part of a larger public health study
• Conduct social listening over the duration of several months in 3 MENA countries
• Ensure social listening data supplements ongoing qualitative and quantitative data collection
• Ensure access to the social listening tools mentioned above

• Identify project relevant keywords, search strings, Google alerts, and relevant influencers
• Develop a rumor tracking log
• Track conversation volume across the keywords, search strings, Google alerts, and relevant influencers
• Conduct daily social listening based on the established data collection methods
• Provide bi-weekly dashboard reports on overall conversation volume metrics and summary of key findings
• Take part in frequent meetings with the CRD team
