MEAL Intern - Generic Position

Enumerators will gather the needed data, using digital data collection tools, for several projects and assessments crucial for further project designs.

3. Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Describe the major responsibilities, principal tasks, competencies and end results for which the intern or volunteer is accountable (limit responsibilities to five).

 

Pre-Internship duties:

  • Attend enumerators’ training
  • Receive enumeration materials and equipment from the team leader

Internship duties:

  • Locate sample members
  • Set and conduct interviews with respondents
  • Record responses as instructed
  • Comply with the requirements necessary for conducting a successful interview
  • Data entry of data collected from the field
  • Support with other MEAL related tasks

Post- Internship duties:

  • Report the number of surveys collected and any unusual situations to the team leader daily
  • Ensure that enumerator checklist is complete
  • Ensure that all questionnaires and equipment are accounted for
  • Turn over all literature and materials used in the survey to the team leader
  • Follow confidentiality and security procedures to ensure respondent privacy is protected

a. Skills & knowledge:

  • Highly organized individual, punctual, capable of handling multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing time effectively
  • Experience in utilizing technology tools and also possess the ability to master new technology tools, as required; familiarity with the use of an Android tablet is an advantage
  • Collected data previously using KOBO or ODK
  • Ability to work independently as well as an effective team player
  • Willing to work on the field
  • Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence and can-do attitude; ability to advance projects with minimal supervision
  • A commitment to CARE International vision, mission, and code of conduct

Experience:

 

At least   0-1  years of relevant experience, especially at NGOs, academic organizations, standard-setting bodies, public agencies focused on humanitarian work, social sciences, and community engagement.

Academic background:

A minumum of a Lebanese Baccaleaureate, and a BA in social sciences is an added value

  1. Languages: English and/ or Arabic are the working language of CARE International.
  1. of other languages is an asset.

5. Other contract elements

CARE offers internship and volunteer opportunities for up to 4 months contract for an allowance at USD $25 for meals and transportation and for a limit of 16 days a month.
