Screening and Initial Counselling Social Worker

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Follow-up on activities, awareness session, filtration of cases
• Provide an improved first contact response to refugees
• Determine initial levels of risk and for providing short term support and guidance to refugees
• Provide all possible advice, guidance, or referral to other relevant services or NGO’s to the refugees who do not meet the criteria for full case management
• Provide an improved first contact response to refugees attending MFRHSU offices.
• Determine initial levels of risk and for providing short term support and guidance to refugees on the basis of their presenting issue on the day of contact. Those refugees who are identified to be at high risk, and in need of a full and comprehensive case management service will be referred to the relevant Case Management Team (PWSN/SGBV/CP) depending on the identified issues of concern. Those refugees who do not meet the criteria for full case management will be given all possible advice, guidance, referral to other relevant services or NGOs, completed by the Screening Officers
• Coordinate with OVs regarding their referral cases
• Attend focus group discussion with the community to assess their needs
• Enquire about the services provided by other NGOs in the community
