Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide one-on-one and family counseling sessions for adults referred by clinical staff or social workers who have a noted mental health concern.
- Counsel recently arrived families who have experienced trauma or loss
- Facilitate sessions for community members about mental health issues, care and treatment
- Lead group counseling sessions to provide support in such areas as grief, stress, etc
- Work in close collaboration with the THC social worker on protection cases and actively participate in protection case management meetings.
- Report in written on a monthly basis
Jointly facilitate parenting workshops with couples from the community
Qualifications:
- Languages: Native speaker of Arabic preferred, otherwise excellent level of spoken Arabic is necessary (Levant dialect); French and English are desirable, at least one of them at an advanced level.
- Leadership skills: Self-motivated, initiative taker, able to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Relational skills: Friendliness with all, with a positive, non-judgmental and encouraging spirit, patience and compassion, but with clear personal boundaries.
- Willingness to work in an economically disadvantaged community and within basic facilities.
- Ability to manage several priorities and meet firm deadlines
- Excellent IT fluency in Microsoft Office to perform the required tasks.
