Case Worker

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Outreach, identify, and receive cases in need of case management following child protection basic principles and according to child’s best interest at all times
  • Work closely with other sectors’ teams/ partners to ensure their capacity building on identification and referral skills
  • Plan and develop case action plan according to the protection needs of each case and in coordination with the Project Manager at ISWA and Case Management Department at SCI;
  • Flag all high-risk cases in which urgent intervention is required to the Project Manager and ensure they are supported immediately;
  • Store and file beneficiary’s data ensuring the confidentiality of the information collected and the services provided according to the minimum standard;
  • Produce quality case reports for each case to be submitted to the Project Manager at ISWA and Case Management Department at SCI
  • Determining which services and assistance are necessary
  • Serving as a liaison between the beneficiaries and social, economic, and health services
  • Planning regular follow-ups to assess progress and additional needs
  • Reviewing and modifying plans as circumstances change for the individual
  • Conduct regular site visits to provide supportive supervisions on the response for community volunteers
  • Submit weekly reports concerning implemented outreach activities, caseload, and related challenges.
  • Participate in weekly case management and coordination meetings.
  • Maintain files, registers, computer databases, and records in paper or electronic format.

Qualifications and experience:

To be eligible for consideration of this occupation, the applicant should meet the following requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or relevant degree
  • Experience in community mobilization and conducting outreach activities
  • Experience in working with at-risk children and families, experience in case management in the emergency response (desirable).
  • Familiar with the Lebanese National Standard Operating Procedures for child protection based on Law 422/2002.
  • Must be socially perceptive to work with individuals who have difficulty expressing their needs with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of crisis-intervention methodologies.
  • Must be organized and practical.
  • Proven coordination skills to connect individuals/families with relevant services.
  • Ability to compromise, negotiate, and work well with others.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work closely in a team setting
