CARE is implementing a capacity building and livelihood community-based agriculture project that seeks to address critical capacity gaps along targeted value chains at both the individual, communal and institutional levels This position is responsible for the outreach, implementation, follow up, and quality maintenance for the Agricultural Training activities, GHP/GMP, Food processing trainings, and GMP according to donor’s request with the support of the team.
Responsibility #1: Project Implementation & Field work • Prepare and conduct and support training sessions for participants in North and South Lebanon as and when requested. (including organizational matters as venue preparation, transportation, refreshments, etc.) • Outreach & follow up with relevant actors such as Youth Committees, Universities, and vocational schools, NGOs/ community focal points about the current project. • Conduct field monitoring visits as and when requested to provide support when needed to ensure quality implementation in all areas (North Lebanon and South Lebanon). • Assist in field/ monitoring data collection, entry, and maintenance for reporting purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization • Assist in organizing, preparing, and running meetings, workshops and conferences • Attend meetings and draft minutes • Engage in filing and archiving activities when needed • Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to CARE and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission. • Other duties as assigned Responsibility #2: Agriculture Technical Assistance • Assist in agriculture and agri-food related activities’ implementation and follow up at the level of partners and beneficiaries. • Assist in the agriculture support component as per the agreed implementation strategy. • Assist in preparing and reviewing training materials • Follow up on research activities with corresponding partners and researchers • Assist in the implementation of recommendations for farmers and MSMEs to partner with financial institutions resulting in increasing access to and use of financial services within the region as well as assist in the determination of viable opportunities for organizations to prepare all required applications, loan documents, and business plans. Responsibility #3: Reporting & Information sharing • Development of technical and field level reports as and when requested. • Assist in drafting narrative and quantitative reports as per CARE internal requirements and donor requirements. • Ensure internal communication and data sharing on project with relevent departments.
Qualifications / special skills or knowledge
• Experience in Small Ruminants Sector • Experience in field work and training • Outstanding organizer and observer • Fast learner • Strong team player and experienced collaborator • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information. • Ability to work under pressure • Motivation, commitment, devotion, and integrity • Solution-oriented. • Knowledge in data collection and analysis, MS Office software.
Experience:
At least 1-3 years of relevant experience, especially at NGOs, focused on Agriculture value chains
Academic Background:
BS degree in one or several of the following areas: Agriculture Engineering, Veterinary studies
