ABOUT THE STRUCTURE…

Solidarités International is an International NGO working with vulnerable populations, mainly victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters. Specialized for nearly 40 years in the coverage of vital needs, S.I. takes charge of emergency and reconstruction programs.

ABOUT THE JOB

General objective:

SI is currently improving its information management capacities. In Lebanon, data structures and channels, as well as roles and responsibilities have been redefined in an innovative way in the past 4 years. Internal and external data flows are being optimized at each project cycle step and an information system was developed locally in order to follow the existing workflow and manage data from all activities, easing up the collaboration between different departments.

Following an innovation development process, the SOLIS project opens new ways of data management in the digital emergent market of Humanitarian organizations.

Under the supervision of the Base IM PM, the IM Mapping Supervisor supports the mission with area’s mapping of points of interest, field data collection and office data handling.

Responsibilities and tasks

General responsibilities

• Base area mapping
• Field data collection
• IM tools testing (Mobile data Collection, GIS, Software, WhatsApp Bot, Machine Learning, …)
• IM Data handling 
• IM services quality follow up

Action-related Responsibilities

• Support to Mission IM PM GIS Management
• Map point of interest for the mission using both field GPS recording and satellite imagery tracing (GIS)
• Maintenance/Update of existing maps (QGIS)
• Collect field data using Mobile Data Collection tools (ODK/Kobo)
• Support to Mission IM PM Data Management
• Test ODK forms, Xls sheets, software, GIS Modules
• Support to data handling (mainly Excel sheets) including data cleaning, mass data entry, data controls
• Support to IM service quality follow up including field surveys and phone calls

The Mapping Supervisor may be asked to drive SI cars and respecting the driving policies set by the logistic department.

YOUR PROFILE

EDUCATION DEGREE: Bachelor Degree

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1 to 2 years

Technical Skills requirement

-              Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel

-              Knowledge of MDC Tools such as Kobo, ODK, Survey 123, ArcGis Collector is a plus

-              Knowledge about GIS, QGis, ArcGis, Missing maps, QGIs, Open street maps, or other related tools is a strong plus

-              Comfortable with mobile, computers, internet and software in general

-              Previous experience in humanitarian field is a strong plus

-              Good communication skills

SI WILL OFFER YOU

A salaried post: 1,380 USD – Basic salary

Vacation: 1.5 Paid Leaves/month
