In December 2017, Sesame Workshop and the IRC were awarded the MacArthur Foundation’s inaugural 100&Change grant to make real progress toward solving a critical problem of our time. With the extraordinary investment of $100 million, our partnership will transform the language, early reading, math, and social-emotional skills of a generation of children ages 0-8. Focusing on children in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria over the next five years, the plan combines the depth of in-person services, reaching 1.5 million children, with the breadth of mass media, reaching 9.4 million children. Job Overview:

The Technical Consultant is responsible for conducting needs assessment for early childhood education curriculum that aligns with the IRC’s standards. He/She will:

  • Conduct needs assessment for early childhood education curricula and content in nurseries licensed by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH):
  • Identify the objectives of the needs assessment
  • Prepare the needs assessment methodology (including the identification of the ECD curriculum needs)
  • Implement the needs assessment in nurseries
  • Analyze the data
  • Report and disseminate the data

Key Working Relationships:

Position Reports to: ECD Senior Technical Quality Manager

Requirements:

  • Master’s in Social Sciences or other related fields.
  • 5 to 7 years of professional experience working in Education research and assessment
  • Strong understanding of educational context and needs in Lebanon.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Autonomy and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility, commitment, work ethics and team spirit.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, French is an asset.

Working Environment:

Field visits will be required to MOPH nurseries in different areas.
