Information and Communication Technology Technician

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, and emergency, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors.

  1. Role and Responsibilities:

The ICT Technician will assist in the implementation and management of the software applications and hardware infrastructure that supports NRC operations. The ICT Technician will be involved in general computer support, upgrades, software installations, deployment of equipment.

Generic Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to NRC policies, guidance, procedures, and Bekaa ICT Plans.
  2. Deliver timely and high quality ICT hardware, software and services to the area offices.
  3. Perform manual updates/upgrades to ICT assets when needed.
  4. Maintain Internet and network connectivity in Bekaa offices.
  5. Test new equipment and applications and provide thorough feedback.
  6. Ensures that NRC’s related activities are implemented within NRC’s Protection mainstreaming guidelines and reports any breaches/concerns to the ICT Officer for proper action

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and update operating systems.
  • Provide software and system troubleshooting and support.
  • Connect/troubleshoot printers and peripheral devices.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair wired and wireless networks infrastructure.
  • Perform other tasks including, but not limited to: resolving windows problems, formatting, outlook setup, applications access, cabling, etc.

 

  1. Qualifications and Relevant Skills:

  • Bachelor or technical degree in IT, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a relevant domain
  • Previous experience in networking and IT.
