Placement Officer

General objectives and tasks:

1- Participate in the mission of facilitating the professional inclusion of people with disabilities:

  • Welcome targeted beneficiaries within the employment office, seeking job opportunities.
  • Create an application for every candidate on the used software, listen actively and record all the necessary information.
  • Conduct physical and psychological assessments of the employment office’s beneficiaries.
  • Create assessment tools to use before, during and after the interviews.
  • Implement the job carving process.
  • Assess the candidate file and provide the adequate service for the professional integration; i.e. training, coaching or placement.
  • Develop capacity building programs to help beneficiaries regain lost skills.
  • Identify free vocational and soft skills trainings that build the capacities of candidates.
  • Prepare job seekers for return to employment by consulting with employers; determine potential employee difficulties; retrain employees; and help employers understand necessary physical and job accommodations.
  • Provide candidates with professional guidance and job readiness (job interview, life skills, cv writing, etc.).
  • Assist in CV and cover letter writing, as well as coaching sessions.
  • Assist in preparing content for professional guidance and job readiness sessions.
  • Train and educate caregivers and family members of clients on parental guidance.
  • Evaluate results and progress on beneficiaries.
  • Follow up monthly, quarterly and yearly with each candidate and
  • update information accordingly.
  • Assess work environment of clients and suggesting what adjustments needed, using ergonomics.
  • Advising on adaptive and assistive technologies or accommodation to help clients and company with daily activities.
  • Issue different types of reports as requested, through the used software.
  • Implement projects of the employment office, as needed.

 

2- Assist in the promotion of corporate social responsibility:

  • Gather information about companies, specialized NGOs and potential partners.
  • Promote the mission and objectives of the employment unit among companies and NGOs.
  • Assist, facilitate and participate in raising awareness and promoting the inclusion training provided to companies on the recruitment of people with disabilities.
  • Encourage the social and professional inclusion concept.
  • Acknowledge and promote the application of the law 220/2000 and CRPD.
  • Increase the circle of connections of the employment office and enhance current relationships.

 

3- Assist in other required tasks as needed.

 

Position requirements:

  • Ability to recognize all types of disabilities.
  • Knowledge of ergonomics.
  • Understanding of the recruitment processes.
  • Previous experience in recruitment agency.
  • Previous experience in NGOs.
  • Previous experience in the livelihood sector.
  • Ability to work on Excel and understanding the logic of recruitment software.
  • Understanding of the disability frameworks in Lebanon.
  • Understanding of the Lebanese Labor law and Social Security law.
  • Acknowledgement of law 220/2000 and Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities.
  • Proficiency in dealing with different types of impairments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to relate to people at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Empathetic person with high emotional resilience.
  • High sense of reasoning and objectivity.
  • High level of confidentiality and respect of work secrecy.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.

Working schedule: Monday till Friday from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm

Contract type: 1 year contract (may be renewable)
