The Child and Mother Welfare Association

The Child and Mother welfare association is a charity organization based in Beirut. The association paved the way for Lebanese charities as it expanded and survived through some of Lebanon’s toughest days. The Child and Mother welfare association’s goal is to raise the standard of living of the Lebanese family by offering health, social, vocational and cultural services.

Founded in 1944 by an all-female board, the association led the way in women empowerment. At a time where the Lebanese society was wary of females joining the workforce, the women behind the association were true pioneers. By providing occupational training and job opportunities to women, the association was raising the health and social status of people with limited income through:
• Inclusive care for the whole family from children to elderly people.
• Assist Lebanese families through health, social, educational and developmental projects.
