World Learning – QITABI 2: SEL Officer Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” QITABI 2 Program Background USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI 2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools. World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “SEL Officer” for the USAID-funded Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI II) in Lebanon. Scope and Responsibilities Under Outcome 2, the SEL officer will report to Outcome 2 lead SEL specialist. The primary role will be to support the SEL specialist to coordinate on the various parallel strands of SEL activities within QITABI 2, to follow up with partners and relevant stakeholders, and documenting outcomes and progress; as well as providing technical support on SEL content development and review in the form of technical documents, social media, curriculum, policies, SEL measurement tools. Tasks include but are not limited to: • Supporting in the coordination of different SEL components within the project with relevant partners and stakeholders • Providing support on monitoring different research activities and reporting on progress • Capacity building to team members on SEL related activities • Documentation of work and outcomes under the specific SEL activities • Supporting in the development and review of SEL integrated content into different subject areas • Monitoring quality of any SEL related content developed/received from partners. • Conducting relevant literature review in the field of SEL and policy development, and supporting in the writing/review of technical documents • Developing monthly SEL content to be published for the purpose of QITABI 2 social media • Providing support on the development of SEL tools and methodologies for the contextual adaptation of SEL measures. • Preparation of presentations for government stakeholders and partners in both English and Arabic • Attending required meetings with partners and government stakeholders • Other responsibilities as assigned Required Qualifications: • Minimum of a BA/BS in education, social sciences, relevant field • A minimum of 3 years working in the field • Skilled researcher in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies • Deep knowledge of the SEL field and policy development in education • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with diverse groups of professionals across both the private and public sector • Skilled multi-tasker and excellent time manager; ability to effectively achieve multiple goals and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic; French is a plus.
