Mental Health Trainer

Basmeh and Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.

Job Purpose : Mental health training teaches B&z STAFF about common mental health conditions. Done well, it reduces the stigma surrounding mental health issues and teaches people to spot warning signs for complex mental health issues, such as trauma, PTSD, and depression/anxiety.

Major Activities :

Provision of general mental health support :

  • Mental health trainer will be providing 3 days for B&Z staff in Shatila Camp
  • This would help them be able to continue responding properly to running projects and to the emergency project in particular.
  • 5 Staff will be given each 3 days of Mental Health. 1 day for reporting.
  • The trainer will coordinate closely with B&Z HR department and with the tools manuals for revisions, brainstorming and for best practices approach.

Reporting:

  • Delivery of a comprehensive reporting package that also includes an analysis of the findings of the online survey on the well-being status and self-care of B&Z staff and volunteers,
  • Final reporting package should be delivered after the training directly.  

Key Performance Indicators :

  • Working within the principles of the Code of Conduct.
  • Ensuring that beneficiaries have access to the appropriate service.
  • Ensuring that the Foundation’s team interacts with beneficiaries within the principles of the B&Z, especially preserving dignity and avoiding psychological harm.
  • Achieving the required number of beneficiaries at the end of the program while ensuring the quality of work.
  • Ensure that a safe environment is provided for the staff in the training,
  • Create positive communication with the team.

Delegation of Authority : Reporting in Case of any violation in Safe Guarding Policy .

Education & Experience :

  • University degree in a related field
  • 5 years of job experience relevant to the function, in a comparable environment with non-governmental organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in delivering training according to tight deadlines.
  • Professional experience in mental health session delivery.
  • Good skills in anticipating problems and developing solutions; - Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to deal with administration and documentation.
  • Knowledge of English written and spoken.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel as well as accounting packages & other database competencies.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel)-Reporting skills
  • Working knowledge of a range of donor rules and regulations.
