PSEA Consultant

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this consultation is to support SAWA’s work on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA). The consultant will maintain the PSEA policy and complaint mechanism and train SAWA’s team working on this issue.

RESPONSIBILITIES, MAIN DUTIES AND REPORTING:

Foster the implementation of PSEA policy through the following activities:

  1. Development of TOT training, and delivery of TOT to frontline workers in order to train beneficiaries and volunteers on PSEA policy and complaint mechanism.
  2. Establishment of complaint mechanisms and to raise awareness of PSEA, the front-liner staff will train the beneficiaries
  3. Training of Admin Staff on PSEA to raise awareness of PSEA including proper documentation and investigation procedures.
  4. Train SAWA’s staff on monitoring of complaints received and reporting.
  5. The consultant will work on developing and enhancing internal PSEA minimum standards, in addition to work on prevention, reporting, assistance to survivors and investigation capacities. The consultant can work on other policies related to PSEA and Child Safe guarding policy.
  6. Train admin staff on conducting field visits to obtain relevant evidence and information. Reviews and research evidence/documents to draw conclusions. Documents all investigative steps 

REPORTS TO: 

Programme Manager

EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND:

  • Minimum of master degree in social science, law or related degree field;
  • Proven experience working in a challenging situation;
  • Experience in working with NGO/ humanitarian organization/ UN agencies
  • Not less than 5 years’ experience in the humanitarian response.       
  • Has knowledge in conducting similar missions. Experienced in SGBV and PSEA policies.
  • The ability to work independently with flexible working hours.
  • High sense of confidentiality and humanitarian ethics (code of conduct).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Advanced researcher skills and ability to develop researcher methods 
  • The researcher will ideally have a degree in social science, law or any related field.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

  • Contract duration: 12 days;
  • Required Starting Date: January 2020;
