Search for Common Ground (Search) is seeking to contract a driver to support in transporting staff and commodities in Wadi Khaled – Halba, Akkar - North Lebanon with travels to Beirut.

1. Context

Diwan Project

Search is implementing the Phase II of the Diwan project which aims to foster stabilization in Wadi Khaled through inclusive governance. This will be achieved by improving collaboration between local leaders and their constituents in addressing local needs and increasing representation of marginalized groups such as youth and women.

2. Goal and Objectives of Assignment

The goal of this assignment is to ensure safe and proper transportation of staff and commodities between Wadi Khaled, Halba and Beirut

• Transport staff and authorized passengers on their official duties
• Collecting materials from project and suppliers and transporting it safely.
• Have a perfect understanding of all traffic laws and regulations
• Ensure proper follow-up of the vehicles maintenance and administrative compliance
• Conduct daily vehicle inspection (mechanical car check)
• Fill the vehicle log sheet daily and accurately
• Assist the field officer in collecting documents from field
• Monitor premises maintenance and repairs needs and ensure timely implementation
• Other tasks or duties that may be assigned by line manager

3. Geographic Locations

Wadi Khaled, Halba, Akkar – travels to Beirut office when needed

4. Ethical Considerations

The contracted party shall take into consideration all factors to ensure that the work is done in a conflict sensitive manner and that no harm is done while implementing the activity. This includes social, security, safety, environmental, economic, and gender-related factors. 

5. Timeline

The duration of this assignment is for 3 months upon signature of contract. 

6. Requirements of Consultant

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Driver’s license with at least 3 years
• Clean judicial record (سجل عدلي)
• Preferable to have previous experience working with NGOs, 1 to 2 years
• Knowledge of Wadi Khaled area and all the municipalities locations
• Basic mechanic knowledge
• Good knowledge of procurement standards and of the Lebanese purchasing environment
• Honest, trustworthy, and solution oriented
• Reliable, rigorous and well organized
• Able and willing to learn to extend his/her scope of work
• Time flexible
