Basic Literacy Teacher - Tripoli

An NGO in Tripoli is seeking to recruit Basic Literacy Teacher.

Job Purpose:

The Basic Literacy teachers works and reports closely to Social Workers.They provide learning skills to children. The children lack basic services as education services as well. The provided skills will be conducted at working field area and center (T5).

The Basic Literacy Teacher will aim to work on a weekly basis children that will provide them with basic literacy (Arabic,French/ English) based on a followed curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilties

• Maintain a safe and effective environment during the sessions, ensure child-friendly atmosphere.
• Supporting in ensuring CP SHLS and mobile areas are safe and equipped for SaWC activities.
• Developing rules with children (fair, adjustable, and agreed).
• Prepare teaching handouts, activity sheets
• Implement child-centered teaching methods, diverse teaching to engage children. 
•  Use assessment tools to overview the learning enhancing progress.
• A Max of 16 working hours that provide effective teaching in literacy sessions to street and working children

Qualifications:

• Education: University degree or  teaching diploma in one of the subjects with in the Lebanese teaching curriculum
• Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
• Demonstrated Skills and Competencies
• Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children.
• Strong ability to organize work and adapt plans on a daily basis based on the ages and needs of the children
• Desire to receive and implement professional development/training opportunities.
