Communications Manager

Budget:

- Contribute to setting department budget on an annual basis

- Coordinate with Director of Communications, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Director of Business Support, and Managing Director as needed on budget-related matters

- Manage expenditures within budget and seek approvals as needed for outside budget needs with appropriate justification 

- Comply with budgeting, finance, and accounting standards to meet Embrace financial and strategic objectives

People leadership:

- Manage team performance and development formally and informally based on standard practices in use across Embrace

- Identify and activate learning as required based on individual and collective needs

- Nurture a team spirit and openness towards feedback, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation 

 

Personal development:

- Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders to enable positive, agile, and effective communications

- Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete personal development plan to attain personal performance objectives and KPIs

Detailed Tasks include:
- Manage the monthly Social Media & Communications Report and share with management  
- Manage Annual Report & Newsletters Publishing
- Manage a weekly meeting of the Communications Department
- Implement Outreach & Communications projects agreed upon with Management &/or based on strategic needs
- Website Revamp Management (Design & Content organization) in coordination with Director of Communications.
- Manage the Communications process on Embrace’s verticals (Clinic, Lifeline, Outreach)

  • Media Calendar Management
  • Supervise the implementation of the Social media Calendar (Content Creation, Reporting)
  • Guide & monitor promotions of social media posts & captions (quality control)

- Business Promotion Material process management: Announcements, reports, banners, brochures, stationery and releases

- Guidance on interview requests (small & medium levels) Refer them to corresponding team members.

- Liaise with the Ministry of Health for Communication on Lifeline & Step by Step & other relevant programs.

- Monitor & follow up on Donor Communication

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s degree- completed or ongoing in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or any relevant specialism including Social Sciences.

- Five years minimum experience in communications (or a relevant field)

- Proactive, creative & demonstrates leadership skills

- Proficient on social media platforms.

- Demonstrates ability to solve problems independently and efficiently.

- Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills.
