(Social) Media Officer and Content Creator

Social Media Officer & Content Creator

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in communication or other related fields
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the field of communication; ideally with a focus on research based social campaigning

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Skillful in the Arabic and English language
  • Knowledge of Arabic typography and typing
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Ease at operating the following software: Microsoft suitcase and all Adobe software –
  • Research skills
  • Imaginative and strategic
  • Methodological
  • Very good organizational and time management skills, proactive
  • Interest and knowledge in campaigning and advocating for social issues
     

(Social) Media Officer

  • Master the functionality and features of a variety of social media platforms, including (and not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram..
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media and managing online content.
  • Knowledge in web development is a plus.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all Public Works Social Media accounts on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter;
  • Create, organize and implement multichannel communication campaigns to drive visibility;
  • Serve as primary contact to strengthen Public Works relationships with media, manage incoming PR enquiries from media and other organizations;
  • Organize media outreach (lists, briefings, interviews) as well as develop outreach activities.
  • Set up and send periodic newsletters;
  • Update PW website with news projects by adding new content;
  • Regularly measure and report on the performance of media activities based on a set of pre-defined KPIs.
  • Remain updated on all Public Work’s projects and liaise with head of departments;

Content creator

  • Interest in reading long research outputs.
  • Able to reformulate academic research material into accessible language.
  • Able to manage content and conceptualize a wide range of communication outputs.
  • Contextual and experimental in visual and textual communication.
  • Interested in varied systems of representation: mapping, coding, iconography.

Responsibilities: 

  • Transform research-based content into an engaging language and for several platforms.
  • Draft communication material for daily social media posts, periodical newsletters, publications, videos and other outputs;
  • Coordinate the production of a diverse range of audio visual material in collaboration with the directors and head of departments;
  • Remain updated on all Public Work’s projects and liaise with head of departments;
