Center Coordinator

MCC is seeking a Center Coordinator to ensure the efficient running of the center by overseeing the center programs and supervising the center team.

Areas of Contribution & Related Accountabilities

Center Administration

  • Handling the opening and closing of the center
  • Handling mccbeirut@armlebanon.org email and social media messaging
  • Overseeing communication on center-led whatsapp and facebook groups
  • Overseeing outreach activities and center visiting systems and regulations
  • Centralizing petty-cash, bookkeeping, and reconciliation for all expenditures
  • Ensuring center resources are being used efficiently and effectively
  • Supporting casework logistics, referrals, and follow-ups as needed
  • Supporting other team’s needs regarding the MCC space
  • Updating the MCC shared online drive folder regularly with relevant content, documents, resources, forms, and archiving materials to ensure flow of information among the team

Planning & Reporting

  • Submitting comprehensive weekly staff and progress reports to direct supervisor
  • Drafting annual center plan in coordination with the MCC and advocacy teams
  • Compiling timely qualitative and quantitative data and preparing internal project reports
  • Overseeing the internal daily reporting process and compiling monthly reports
  • Communicating needs, challenges, opportunities to direct supervisor and resolving issues 
  • Compiling reporting texts and photos for GivingLoop
  • Drafting project briefs for emerging ideas
  • Contributing to fundraising efforts for MCC 

Center Activities & Projects

The Center Coordinator will be leading on specific activities and projects within MCC, such as:

  • Recruiting, managing, and supporting the efforts of volunteers, interns, and consultants
  • Delivering public information sessions (at schools, universities, outreach activities, events)
  • Participating in the weekly meetings with migrant communities at the center
  • Coordinating the implementation of the community initiatives fund
  • Contributing to the development of the community literature project
  • Overseeing the implementation of the MCC Members Board
  • Overseeing the coordination of external events (protests, etc.)
  • Contributing to advocacy campaigns, workshops, and activities
  • Representing MCC with journalists, researchers, and the media
  • Identifying and responding to emerging needs and challenges 
  • Handling relevant emerging tasks as needed

Team Management

  • Assign tasks within the team in accordance with each team member’s strengths/workloads
  • Oversee the implementation of the team’s work plan and provide support with tasks
  • Schedule and facilitate weekly team meetings and ensure proper follow up on decisions
  • Regularly identify training needs of team members and organize required training
  • Regularly assess the team’s workload and intervene in issues with performance or wellbeing
  • Carry out all the managerial tasks for the team, including drafting recommendation letters, processing leave requests, monitoring time sheets monthly, monitoring weekly task reports, filling out Performance Reviews on a yearly basis, etc.
  • Arranging for efficient information flow, handover of duties, documentation and filing of documents relevant to the center

Communications & Work Relationships

Internal Communication

  • Regular contact with center, advocacy, and programs teams
  • Occasional contact with the casework and fundraising teams

 ExternExternal Communication

  • Regular contact migrant community members and MCC visitors
  • Regular contact with volunteers, interns and consultants
  • Occasional contact with journalists and researchers

 Framework, Boundaries, and Decision Making Authority

 The MCC Center Coordinator has the authority to make informed decisions on operational and tactical decisions and take necessary actions in consultation with the Operations Manager

 Schedule

Schedule: 40 hours/week (including evenings and weekends).

2 consecutive days off per week. 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Education: MA in social sciences (or equivalent).
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in relevant roles, preferably in community centers or NGOs.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of migrant workers issues in Lebanon is a must. 
  • Technical skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive, productivity applications.
  • Soft skills: interpersonal skills, communication skills, ability to multitask, highly organized,
    people-person able to be welcoming, manage positive relationships, and resolve conflicts.
  • Languages: Highly proficient in Arabic, English, and French, priority to trilingual applicants.
