Position Overview:
The IT Support Officer is responsible for the day to day management of the IT infrastructure for UPEL head office and 6 field offices, as well as supporting improvements in UPEL’s IT sector. This includes assistance in providing technical support and planning support to future initiatives to increase the in-country capacity. This requires a highly motivated and detail solution oriented individual who will be able to resolve operational critical challenges as they arise.
Main Responsibilites:
Technical:
- Provide IT support to the programme and support staff as required.
- Provide data to monitor and evaluate the overall IT performance in support of the programs.
- Provide IT assistance, hardware and software troubleshooting to UPEL staff and infrastructure, including servers.
- Setup and administrate internet, local area network and servers, and administration of UPEL proprietary accounting and other software.
- Format and install drivers (including printer\scanner drivers) and relevant software for new laptops and desktops, making sure only authentic software is installed, in
- Service and maintain UPEL printers and other IT hardware.
- Keep track of IT related supplies (e.g. printer toner, spare parts) and place Order Requests as stock is used up.
- Carry out research and information gathering on topics of relevance to the project, as needed.
- Other relevant tasks, as requested.

- Proactively initiate solutions upon challenges at the work operating environment.
- Respect professional boundaries and work ethics at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of Information.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop UPEL services.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Information Technology
- Experience in IT support in a large organisation.
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills
- Experience in setting up servers, routers and networks
- Experience with maintaining printers and other IT hardware
- Excellent knowledge of Linux OS and Windows Server
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic & English
- Commitment to and understanding of UPELS’s aims, values and principles
- Desirable Experience with M&E Tools
- Relevant qualifications or training courses.
