Research and Project Officer

About Lebanon Support

Lebanon Support is a multidisciplinary space creating synergies and bridging between the scientific, practitioner, and policy spheres. The centre aims to foster social change through innovative uses of social science, digital technologies, and publication and exchange of knowledge.

Main tasks

The Project Officer will be asked to perform the tasks below:

1) Research 

- Contribute to and/or lead on the development and follow up on research activities and/ or projects using transdisciplinary approaches;

- Contribute to the development of / develop new research including research design, methodologies, analysis, writing, and dissemination to be published in a variety of formats (scientific papers, short articles, reports, policy briefs, blog posts, infographic materials, etc.);

- Contribute to the development of / develop new research including research design; 

- Develop, code, maintain, and analyse databases and mappings;

-  Disseminate research insights and findings in scientific and other knowledge sharing events and other media;

- Work with the centre's team to improve ongoing programmes and projects, and increase their usability, impact, and reach;

- Contribute to  review and/or editing Lebanon Support’s content, and publications, as well as the yearly Civil Society Review, for quality and consistency prior to dissemination;

-Contribute to the visibility of the centre’s research and publications;

- Perform other research related tasks as required.

2) Projects follow-up

- Provide coordination, effective management, and leadership to Lebanon Support’s project on social justice, to achieve the greatest impact possible;

- Follow up of project’s activities to achieve projects’ deliverables;

- Ensure projects’ teams and counterparts are continuously involved, consulted and informed of ongoing progress;

-Participate to the drafting of reports, annual work plans, budgets, disbursement, procurement, recruitment and monitoring plans as well as necessary updates;

- Contribute or lead on the coordination, preparation, and submission of donor reports;

- Ensure implementation is in compliance with Lebanon Support’s internal policies as well as donors’ policies and procedures.

- Maintain a filing system for all projects related documentations;

- Perform other projects’ follow up tasks as required.

 

Qualifications: 

- Masters’s degree in social science.

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the relevant field. A more junior position might be considered, salary will commensurate with experience and education, as per Lebanon Support’s salary scale.

- Ability to complete tasks on time.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

- Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently, coordinate, and plan with relevant team members

- Fluency in English, and Arabic are minimum requirements. Knowledge of French is highly desirable

- Ability to give and receive feedback constructively

- Capable of working both individually and as part of a team.
