Accountant

Amideast/Lebanon is recruiting an Accountant for the Administration department. The Administration department is responsible for ensuring the organization’s achievement of the financial and administrative management objectives.

Position Description

The Accountant will be performing cashiering, accounting, customer service, and basic office management tasks. The Accountant will handle various responsibilities, which include:

  • Review invoices per policies and prepare complete and audit-proof documentation for all payments
  • Handle petty cash for small payments per HQ policies
  • Collect outstanding accounts receivable with full accuracy and compliance with Amideast procedures
  • Properly enter vouchers into the automated project-based accounting system
  • Issue invoices and receipts for walk-in and corporate clients
  • Book and allocate revenues across projects
  • Maintain inventories and order supplies to ensure availability of items and amounts that meet all departments’ needs
  • Maintain proper and complete files and filing systems per standards
  • Prepare and submit payments and reports, as requested by manager
  • Handle process to link projects for staff in automated timesheet system
  • Track and allocate expenses for courier, telephone, supplies, etc. to appropriate projects
  • Handle vetting process for employees, consultants, and vendors to ensure compliance with HQ policies
  • Provide direct front-desk customer assistance whenever needed to ensure all visitors and callers are well-served

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in an accounting position or similar field
  • Master’s degree or certification in accounting is a plus
  • Experience using ProClass and CostPoint accounting software is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to perform all work assignments with very high attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage deadlines
  • High degree of integrity and ethics
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office; high proficiency in Excel is required
  • Willingness to work after hours, if needed
  • Lebanese citizenship
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is a must
  • Available to start work as soon as possible
