Quality and Training Officer

The Quality and Training Officer will assist the Quality, Research and Development unit in projects related to quality, training, and research in addition to advocacy and awareness raising in palliative care.

  1. Main functions and duties include:

Quality

  • Identify best practices in standards of practice in palliative care
  • Draft, evaluate and review policies related to clinical care and risk and safety management
  • Review and analyze literature to select clinical tools as needed
  • Conduct chart audit and collect data for clinical indicators
  • Has basic knowledge of and experience in using performance and process improvement (PPI) methods (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA)
  • Has basic knowledge and experience in using tools to display data or evaluate a process (e.g., Pareto chart, run chart, control chart)
  • Has basic knowledge and skills in using statistics to describe data
  • Analyze quarterly operational and clinical indicators and assist in identifying gaps in performance
  • Assist in setting and implementing quality improvement plans including data collection, training of nurses, monitoring and evaluation, and follow up with team on project progress.

Training

  • Has knowledge of and experience in training development including community needs assessment, analyses of purpose, philosophy, concepts and framework.
  • Assist in developing training needs assessment and training evaluation plans as appropriate
  • Develops and implements a training based on innovative teaching and learning strategies that facilitate adult-centered learning and achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Has knowledge of and experience in evidence-based teaching and learning processes and helping learners interpret and apply evidence in their clinical learning experiences.

Other projects

  • Assist in developing and implementing project proposals covering different aspects in palliative care: research, awareness raising, advocacy, policy and service development that aim at strengthening palliative care in Lebanon and the region.
  • Assist in research projects including write up of research proposal, conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection and data analysis.

  • Very good command of English
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research is a plus
  • Knowledge about palliative care is a plus
  • Knowledge in using SPSS is a plus
