Wood Warehouse Rehabilitation and Maintenance in Burj Hammoud

Many small enterprises (less than 10 employees) were severely affected by the explosion (partially destroyed, loss of equipment, etc.) and had to stop their activities. This represents for them and their employees an immediate loss of income with a risk of layouts if they cannot afford the basic repairs and replacement of equipment to restart their professional activities in a short delay.

Small enterprises (less than 10 employees) represent 90% of the enterprises in Lebanon. They were already severely affected by the financial crisis and the covid19 crisis. A lot of them struggled to survive and had to cope with the high imported raw material and equipment, depreciation of the Lira, and the general economic slowdown. The explosion jeopardizes the survival of numerous small businesses: mainly, those located near the site which was heavily damaged and suffered from the loss of equipment, material, and stocks, and indirectly those affected by the closure of the first ones and the economic impact resulting from the explosion.

The project’s aim is to rehabilitate a wood warehouse in Burj Hammoud. The work includes rehabilitating the Wood warehouse that was exposed to severe damages due to the 4th of August,2020 Beirut explosion.

MADA Association would like to invite reputed, qualified general contractors to make a firm offer for the project of wood warehouse rehabilitation and maintenance in response to the Beirut Blast area.
