Duties & Responsibilities

The consultant will be expected to provide the following services:

• Reviewing available data in a thorough and analytical manner;
• Conducting desktop research, and using books, journal articles, newspaper sources;
• Whenever necessary conduct questionnaires, surveys, polls, and interviews to gather data;
• Analyzing and interpreting patterns and trends;
• Recording findings by taking written notes and using appropriate software;
• Anticipating research issues or challenges and promptly resolving them;
• Produce a through report that depicts clear correlations between censorship patterns and sociological phenomena.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Master’s degree in sociology, anthropology, political science or other related fields;
• 3+ years of experience working as a researcher or research assistant;
• Sound understanding of research methodologies.
• Experience drafting reports, policy briefs and/or academic papers;
• Ability to autonomously explore, identify and access reliable research resources;
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills;
• Familiarity with qualitative analysis software such as Atlas.ti;
• Strong command of Microsoft Officer Suite;
• Attention to detail and exceptional written, verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision;
• Ability to work under pressure, manage deliverables and meet strict deadlines.
