A. Required qualifications, competencies, and experience
Qualifications
Bachelor in Psychology
Professional experience
First practical experiences in providing psychosocial support, such as one-to-one counseling, facilitation of group sessions, or similar
Practical experience in cooperation management with partners (preparation of meetings, minutes taking, documentation of training and workshops, etc.)
Practical experience in logistics and organization of processes and events
Other knowledge, additional competences
Fluent in English and Arabic
Good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams)
Motivation to learn
Good people skills and team spirit
High identification with a human rights-based approach to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
High personal ethics and a non-judgemental, non-discriminatory attitude
Good personal work organization and reliability
B. Responsibilities:
The intern is responsible for:
Assisting GIZ Lebanon’s implementation of activities in the field of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
In this context, the intern fulfills the following tasks:
C. Tasks
1. Support internal and external communication
a. support all communication-related work of the project, including the preparation of factsheets, emails, website texts, presentations, etc.
b. assist with the translation to and from Arabic, as required, and/or ensure that the quality of translated documents is at a very high standard
2. Support knowledge management and administration
a. support staff in procurement and administration
b. ensure that all relevant documents are archived in the document management system (DMS) of GIZ
c. document best practices and lessons learned of the projects´ implementation
3. Support in steering the cooperation with partners
a. support partners in the technical implementation of joint projects through input in capacity development measures
b. prepare meetings with partners take minutes and support follow-up
c. support administration of contracts
4. Support networking and exchange
a. Support the organization and logistics of exchange formats such as workshops, seminars, etc. with project partners
b. assist in identifying potential partners and stakeholders for future cooperation
c. participate in round tables/task force/stakeholder meetings and other networking events
5. Support Monitoring and Evaluation of projects implemented with partners
a. prepare questionnaires, surveys, interviews, and analyze results
b. support the monitoring of projects’ progress according to GIZ rules & regulations
c. support with the evaluation of projects at project milestones
Description of the project: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for the strengthening of psychological resources in Lebanon” cooperates with a variety of MHPSS actors, mostly NGOs/CSOs, in their efforts to provide high-quality gender-, trauma- and context-sensitive psychological and psychosocial support in Lebanon. The project provides technical and financial support as well as networking and capacity development opportunities. Target groups of the project partners are, amongst others, persons affected by gender-based violence.
