Soap making expert for technical consultancy RE-POSTED

Socio-Economic Enhance and Development (SEED) is a non-profit, secular, and non-governmental organization based in Tripoli, North Lebanon.

The core value of SEED is to empower individuals and communities in order to create an independent and prosperous society. We give people a hand up, not a hand out. The way we do this is through projects offering education, equipping people with vocational skills, and providing information on matters such as health and legal. We encourage volunteering and delivery of services by the community, for the community.

Period of Performance: 4 sessions (half day each) in September; 50$/session for a total of 200$.

The role:

Under the women empowerment project funded by KAS (Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung), SEED aims at enhancing Syrian women’s access to the job market in Greater Tripoli. 

We’re looking for a Soap making expert to offer in-person consultancy to groups of 4-5 women who are planning to launch their small business. Beneficiaries have already received marketing and business training in order to develop their business plans and the project is now entering its final phase, dedicated to technical consultancy. The consultant is required to suggest to them how to improve their products’ quality, packaging, etc. and make them relevant/competitive on the market (ex. finding suppliers, cost control, etc.) in order to start and manage a small enterprise.

A final report will be required. 

Minimum Qualifications:  

- Proven and successful experience in the soap-making sector

- 1+ year training/consultancy experience; 

- As he/she’ likely to work with beneficiaries coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, the candidate is required to have an adequate understanding of vulnerability issues; previous experience with non-profit organizations and women empowerment projects is a plus.

- Excellent communication skills.
