In partnership with UNICEF, AND is operating safe spaces in Akkar (static and mobile) for women and adolescent girls. These spaces provide holistic services focusing on psychosocial support, violence prevention, livelihoods strengthening and social cohesion to diverse vulnerable populations Syrian and Lebanese, including women and girls, and survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), torture and trauma. AND is seeking a trainer with a strong background on civil defence.
These services include skills building trainings for women and girls on several, diverse topics including prevention and management of fires and incidents in the household. Thus, the need for a civil defense trainer. The trainer is required to coordinate with the project manager to combine the needs of the trainees with the training curriculum and material in accordance with protection priorities determined for the women and children
Areas of Responsibility: skills building (Civil defence)
The main task to be completed by the trainer shall be:
- Lectures, practical classes & demonstration for civil defense, fires and small incidents in the household, falls, cuts, poisoning, theft, robbery, basics of survival techniques in case of disasters, firefighting skills, identifying fire safety arrangements and importance of following emergency procedures
- Developing easy to follow emergency procedures with useful numbers
- Identification of emergency response services in the area
- At the end of the training the trainee will be able to know safety measures that shall be put in place to avoid household accidents.
Providing the training workshops on prevention and response of household accidents to a group of 10 women in Akkar.
Learning shall be provided in cycles. A training cycle of 12 hours divided by 4 days.
Training locations:
In Akkar, namely the safe space Miniara –Hrar and SDC Hissa – Akkar.
Deliverables
The provider of services shall be responsible for the following deliverables.
- Training Cycle Syllabus and timetable
- Training Curriculum
- Final Appraisal at the end of the training cycle.
Level of Effort
The Trainer shall have the following number of days allocated for this task:
