COMMUNITY PERCEPTION TRACKER IN LEBANON (COVID19)

Oxfam in Lebanon

Background

Oxfam is a global movement of people who are working together to end the injustice of poverty. Oxfam has been working in Lebanon since 1993. We provide humanitarian assistance to vulnerable people affected by conflict, and we promote economic justice and good governance, and women’s rights. Oxfam also works with local partners to contribute to the protection and empowerment of marginalized women and men.

Oxfam and partners have been responding to the Syria Crisis since 2013, with WASH and protection integrated interventions in the informal tented settlement across municipalities in the Bekaa.

Following the COVID19 outbreak in 2020, Oxfam and partners Nabad have adopted the use of the Community Perception Tracker (CPT), , an approach that uses a mobile tool to enable staff to capture, analyze and understand the perceptions of communities during disease outbreaks to influence and shape programmes and policy work.

Objective

Oxfam is looking for a talented graphic designer to help produce A3-size printed infographic posters that will be shared with Syrian refugee communities.

These posters will be used in group discussions with members of the community to discuss and validate the information represented. Information will highlight:

  • COVID-19 perceptions within different communities.
  • Concerns about vaccines and access to PPEs.
  • Changes that have been made to the programme based on collected data.
  • Reflections about how the CPT process has been beneficial for Oxfam’s program design and why it’s important to continue using it.

The posters will aim to:

  • Shed light on the different perceptions of COVID-19 within Syrian communities.
  • Portray common concerns and how Oxfam and their partner Nabad were able to help the communities overcome them.
  • Provide learnings about from the processes adopted by Oxfam and their partner Nabad in order to gather data
  • Share statistics and facts gathered from the CPT data to create discussions with the community members regarding their sentiments on the data.
  •

Format

The posters will feature three sections:

  • A visual summary of thematic trends emerging from the CPT data
  • A summary of a few concrete programmatic changes that have been made based on qualitative patterns in the CPT data
  • A set of reflections about how the CPT process has been beneficial for Oxfam’s programme design and why Oxfam and partners plan to continue using it.
