Job Overview: The Community Development Center (CDC) Assistant will be addressing refugee enquiries and responsible for providing direct support and assistance to refugees to use the UNHCR Kiosks in Aarsal, North Bekaa. The CDC Assistant has to be skilled in modern IT. The CDC Assistant will be reporting to the Community Development Center (CDC) Officer and collaborating closely with the Senior Case Management Officer.
Major Responsibilities:
- Greeting refugees entering the CDC.
- Support refugees to use the Kiosks.
- Using care and discretion when addressing refugee concerns.
- Facilitate orientation sessions.
- Promote usage within the community, troubleshooting, and crowd management.
- Conduct feedback sessions with refugees using the kiosk as part of the monitoring and evaluation.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports to CDC Officer in a timely manner.
- Participate in monthly meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care.
- Identify and refer persons with specific needs to the Senior Case Management Officer using via interagency referral form.
- Coordinate closely with the Referral Officer in internal referrals for persons of concern and participants in the CDC.
- Perform other duties related to activities at the CDC, as needed or requested by the supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Work Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in MEAL.
- Good protection background and knowledge of refugee context and working with the refugee community.
- Good knowledge on community center activities.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of beneficiaries at all times.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility with a positive attitude.
- Strong team spirit, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment.
- Detailed oriented.
- Flexibility in working overtime when needed and ability to handle pressure well.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Skilled in modern Information Technology.
- Awareness of the overall operational context.
Education: Bachelor/Degree in information management or related field.
Language Skills: Fluency in Arabic required, ability to communicate and write clearly in English preferred.
Working Environment: Located in the Community Development Center in Aarsal.
