Introduction

The European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD) is a French non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 1988 and operating in the field of social and economic development in partnership with local institutions. IECD’s main sectors of action are vocational training and professional integration, assistance to micro and small enterprises and access to education for the most vulnerable. IECD has been operating In Lebanon since 1988 and opened a regional office in Beirut in 2007.

 

Through the support to micro and small enterprises (MSEs) and startups, IECD invests in training and support for small businesses and youth, the main engine of growth and job creation at the local level.

 

The Support to Micro Enterprises program has been running in North Lebanon and accompanying very small entrepreneurs since 2010, training about 100 entrepreneurs per year on “Basic Management training”. The skills for your business program has been running since 2017, and aims at training youth from 18 to 35 to launch their own project. In addition to the Basic Management training and Skills for your Business training provided by IECD, the entrepreneurs and startups are followed for a year after the training to assess their improvement and provide the needed support, with good impact on the evolution of entrepreneur’s practices and the development of their business.

 

The support to Micro Enterprises program is being implemented in the North area (Tripoli and surroundings) since 2010, and the skills for your business project is being implemented in the North and Beirut Mount Lebanon since 2017. However, to support the local economic fabric on a wider scale, IECD extends its intervention to Saida area and surrounding.

 

To implement the program activities in the new area, IECD is looking for a Training Coordinator

 

MISSION

 

Under the responsibility of the Entrepreneurship project manager, the “Entrepreneurship Program” Training Coordinator & Facilitator” will be responsible of:

 

1/ Recruitment of the beneficiaries

Prospection, identification, and selection process of potential beneficiaries.

  • Introduce the program to the local authorities and other organizations and stockholders in the area and its surrounding.
  • Coordinate with other organizations and stakeholders in Saida area and surrounding to outreach micro-entrepreneurs and startups and facilitate the implementation of the project activities in the field.
  • Outreach through social media with the support of the communication manager.
  • Conduct and monitor the recruitment process from the registration to the selection of the candidates with the support of the project manager.

 

2/ Trainings’ implementation and facilitation

  • In coordination with the project manager, plan and organize trainings timeline according to the global action plan and to beneficiaries’ availabilities.
  • Master the content of the training’s sessions for Basic Management training and Skills for your Business trainings.
  • Ensure the logistics and coordination of training sessions.
  • Deliver Basic management training or Skills for your Business to the selected beneficiaries in a clear and structured way.
  • Take a role in the development and adaptation of the training’s material to keep the training content relevant and up to date.

 

3/ Specialized trainings and events implementation and coordination

  • In coordination with the project manager, plan and organize specialized trainings and events timeline according to the global action plan and to the beneficiaries’ availabilities.
  • Monitor the outreach and selection phase
  • Coordinate with the external trainer for the implementation of the trainings and events (logistics, follow up…)

 

3/ Follow up and Coaching. 

  • Set up of a clear follow up during and after the training planning in coordination with the project manager.
  • Implement beneficiaries follow up visits during and after the training.
  • Collect qualitative and quantitative data on project performance and impact on beneficiaries and recommend needed improvement.
  • Attend workshops and ToTs on how to conduct an impactful coaching session

 

4/ Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Fill in the weekly workplan
  • Write a monthly activity report
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data in accordance with the project logframe.
  • Fill in and update the internal M&E tools and the database on salesforce and report to the project manager.

 

4/Others:

  • Involve in an active way in the social media visibility of the project by identifying success stories, testimonies and share update of activities with the communication manager to be posted on social media channel.
  • Support in procurement process for the in-kind grants when needed.

 

 

PROFILE

 

Education:  University degree in development, economics, business management or other relevant fields.

 

Experience: 2-to-5-year experience in working with SME’s and startups, preferably within international organization.

Previous experience in facilitating trainings.

Experience in entrepreneurship is a plus.

  • Strong motivation to work on the field with various profiles of beneficiaries and partners
  • Adaptability and excellent listening skills
  • Ability to work as part
  • Show initiative and be able to work independently, strong autonomy
  • Good organizational skills, ability to co-develop and follow a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Ability to identify project objectives and work towards them
  • Ability to use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, procurement, and costs
  • Native command of the Arabic language and a good level of spoken and written English
  • Good command of pack office

 

CONDITIONS

 

Under the supervision of: Entrepreneurship project manager

Location: Saida and surroundings with some visits to Beirut and Tripoli

Position dates:  start on 01/11/2021 for a period of 12 months renewable

Contract: One year work contract

Package: to be determined upon experience
