Liaison Coordinator

    1. Role Summary:

The Liaison Coordinator supports the organisation in establishing positive working relationships and facilitate information exchange with national authorities, local service providers, International NGOs, UN agencies in support of NRC’s operations in Lebanon.

Generic Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  2. Provide regular progress reports to PM (AM and CCS if no PM)          
  3. Promote and share ideas for improvement of NRC’s network within Lebanon
  4. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
  5. Communicate adequately and share general information about NRC’s operation in Lebanon.
  6. Strengthen and maintain NRC’s network of relevant contacts through direct liaison as well as strategic support to stakeholder engagement.
  7. Ensure that NRC’s related activities are implemented within NRC’s Protection mainstreaming guidelines and reports any breaches/concerns to the line manager and/or focal point for proper action.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Link relevant focal points in NRC with counterparts at above mentioned stakeholders and provide support where needed on action points and discussions follow up.
  2. Develop and continuously update a stakeholder analysis relevant to NRC’s operational areas.
  3. Support the Access Adviser in representing NRC in relevant coordination fora where needed.
  4. Provide update on engagement with relevant bodies bi-monthly.
  5. Ensure proper documentation and filing of all official communication with line ministries and institutions.
  6. Maintain active contact with counterparts.

 

Critical Interfaces:

By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:

  • Members of the Country Management Group (CMG)
  • Programme Specialists
  • Project Managers
  • Head of Programme Support

 

    2. Competencies:

Professional competencies

These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience with in a similar role.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position's responsibilities
  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field
  • Proficiency in MS Officer Applications
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, written and verbal
