Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that UNHCR's digital content reflects the highest standards of writing, copy development and integrity. S/he works with the other specialist staff in the PSP MENA network, or with relevant stakeholders in the PSP Regions, offering creative solutions, technical writing expertise, and new ideas to meet the changing demands of both local and global digital engagement and fundraising campaigns.
In support of the PPH and IG programmes in the Region, PSP this function leads on copy development for various digital, print, video and occasional offline communication content for UNHCR's different hubs in print and digital formats. This position will also support the PPH fundraising and synergize this with overall brand identity to communicate with current and potential supporters. S/He are going to be part of a digital creative team that works in a quick and dynamic environment, so speed is essential. S/He will participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle from conceptual through release to make sure the copy in each product is clear, direct, and persuasive.

Ensure that UNHCR’s voice is crafted into engaging messaging that inspire audiences in key PSP markets.
Lead the copy development for PSP MENA digital campaigns and content packages\ to inspire donors to increase their giving and attract new prospects Content creation should be tailored to the different pools of donors and based on donor’s profiling and understanding.
Master UNHCR’s Refugee Zakat Fund communications and key messages and innovate with content and copies around Islamic Philanthropy.
Proofread all copy and messaging, ensuring it adheres to brand and quality guidelines.
Support in the creation of cross-channel campaign content that would communicate one message across different mediums, mastering how to make an idea translate effectively and flawlessly across all channels from offline, to social and digital channels across different placements.
Provide digital engagement and optimization copy writing for landing pages, email marketing, donor’s reports and videos.
Develop content matrices and calendars to track and manage content updates and performance
Master the tone of UNHCR to target different audiences with different demographics and backgrounds.
Review digital content and recommend improvements in collaboration with the digital campaigner. )
Write and edit the creation of all brand copy, from email to large scale marketing campaigns. This could include marketing campaign copy and tag lines, video scripts, product descriptions, website copy, emails.
Compile text from provided sources with evidence-based information, take data, information, and products from sources and bring them to life creatively, simply and beautifully.
Provide writing guidance to colleagues in the PSP unitKeep abreast of current refugee issues, research topics, historic and current events. Develop creative copies that are forward-thinking and in-line with current media trends.
Scheduling multiple projects and delivering to deadlines.
Perform other related duties as required.

Relevant Job Experience
Essential
Minimum 3 years in-depth knowledge of writing and editing for digital campaigns, fundraising and engagement initiatives with a particular focus on online and video content production.
Knowledge and experience working within humanitarian field.
Strong command of written and spoken Arabic.
Good command of written and spoken English.
Desirable
Previous experience with UNHCR.
