Life Skills Trainer Under Project Funded by Swiss LFST_003

  1. Background

The project’s main overall objective is to stimulate sustainable economic participation of           vulnerable youth to promote their inclusion in the development of marginalized communities. In the long-term, inclusion can transform youth socio-economic outlook making them active participants in decreasing unemployment rates and increasing their household income. The specific objective of this project will be to develop youth employability through comprehensive training programmes. Target beneficiaries will have access to accelerated market-based training and self-development programs that will prepare them to increase their competitiveness in the skilled labour market. Finally, the project will aim to strengthen private sector and national actor engagement in active labour market programmes, by participating in developing an effective labour programme leading to significant reduction in identified skills gap.

  1. Purpose

Safadi Foundation is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Trainer in Life Skills : To join its Training Team. The successful national candidate will be expected to:

  • Identify development needs and develop the training curricula and materials
  • Provide ideas and inputs to make the training active and interesting to beneficiaries
  • Monitor and review the progress of beneficiaries through discussions and interactions
  • Help the beneficiaries developing their existing skills and behavioral attributes
  • Enhance trainee’s performance in their current role; address anticipated changes
  • Evaluate the beneficiaries through the evaluation form

The general objective of the consultancy is to train approximately 225 beneficiaries distributed on 15 groups  

  1. Overall Responsibility
  • Overall training plan & justification of the methodology & duration
  • Detailed Agenda for the training for 9 training sessions ( 4 hours\ session)
  • Training modules and handout materials for participants (All rights should be reserved)
  • Facilitation and delivery of the training sessions
  • Keep attendance and other records
  • Develop best practice models of life skills training.

 

  1. Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. To use power Point Presentations, videos and case studies in training sessions as well provide participants with brochure and manuals.
  2. Final report of findings and recommendations: The Consultant shall report directly to SF’s Tripoli Office, in particular. S/he will submit the following reports at the end of the training sessions:
  • Presentation of training outcomes to the SF field team and technical advisors;
  • Narrative Report draft which includes: i) number of beneficiaries (disaggregated by gender and nationality), ii) providing technical guidance for future steps.
  • Present a final report including recommendations (template available)
  1. Contract Information
  • Availability: 1 November 2021 to 31 October 2022
  • Duty station: Tripoli Area
  • Contract Length: 12 Months

 

  1. Qualifications Required

 

  1. Person Qualifications:
  • Expert in Life Skills Training  
  • Selected candidate should have an advanced experience in technical trainings; at least 3 years of experience.
  • Strong experience in delivering trainings to multicultural attendees
  • Knowledge and experience in working with NGOs/ local authorities for at least 3 years
  • Experience in development, design, and facilitations of training programs
  • Capacity to think creatively in dealing with vulnerable audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a supportive technical and communication style
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability of making effective presentations to Strong command of Arabic (the training language)
  • High reporting experience
  • Clear understanding of the political, geographic, and economic dynamics of Tripolie area
  1. Years of Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in working in similar field
  2. Competencies:
  • Show respect to beneficiaries’ confidentiality
  • Respect and promote SF’s Policies and report to SF field officer any non-respect of SF’s policies amongst the teams or partners.
  • Address needs and requests in a professional way.
  • Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.
  • Always respect a refusal of participation.
