NEXUS Entrepreneurship Coaching program

SCOPE OF WORK AND REQUIREMENTS

 

  • The trainers selected will deliver an intensive training during 7 days starting December 6th until December 15th, on access to finance, building financial projections, solidifying the business model and exploring the right revenue streams, finding venture capital/business angels/ crowd sourcing vs. going alone.
  • A total of 20 individuals from the 4 MPC (Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia); 5 individuals from target users’ institution per MPC will be selected to be part of the program and will benefit from the capacity building phase.

 

The training program should include the below components:

 

    • Component 1 - Introduction to Private Equity and Venture Capital

 

    • Component 2 - Building financial projections

 

      • Cost, risk and resource considerations.
      • Financial projections.
      • Valuation of the business concept and intellectual property.

 

    • Component 3 - Solidifying the Business Model and exploring the right revenue streams
      • Solidifying business concepts by complementary products, networks, and learning.
      • Identifying new revenue streams and partners across the value chain.
      • Prioritizing business concepts according to attractiveness and product market fit.

 

    • Component 4 - Investors: Finding venture capital/business angels/ crowd sourcing vs. going alone
      • Discovering private equity investors: legal issues and taxation.
      • The management of private equity and venture capital funds.
      • Company valuation and deal making in private equity settings.

This is the 3rd module of a global coaching session of 3 modules. Module 1 (on IPR management – IP Protection and Commercialization) and Module 2 (on Business Model Generation) will be given from end of October until end of November by our Jordanian partner.

Sessions’ format:
  • The training will be given on December 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 13th, 14th and 15th of December with a total of 14 hours.
  • Typical length of each session is 2 hours to be delivered remotely.
  • Sessions are expected to be highly interactive, customized to the profile of the projects, sharing ongoing feedback with participants and followed by specific deliverables that will be reviewed by trainers for feedback.
  • Trainers should include tools, templates and resources in coordination with Berytech team.

                                     

Coordination and complimentary support from Berytech:

The trainers are asked to share with Berytech a clear training curriculum, session details, timeline, methodology, tools and deliverables expected, for validation. It may be suggested to complement the standard training modules with supporting activities suggested and delivered by Berytech, such as pitching training, market research techniques etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Applications to this proposal can be from independent trainers or a legal entity, from Lebanon or the region.
  • Different trainers may be invited to participate to particular sessions that require specific expertise.
  • Trainers should be experienced in delivering similar trainings or coaching for the empowerment of entrepreneurs with a minimum of 5 years of experience in technology transfer.
  • Trainers should be able to provide real examples on the WEF – Nexus sector in the Mediterranean region.
Trainers should add interventions from experts having a demonstratable knowledge of the WEF-NEXUS sector.

SELECTION CRITERIA

 

Expert trainers or the training firm will be selected based on:

  • The proposal and methodology suggested and fit for the program’s objective.
  • Experts’ bio, proven track records and experience in the field required.
