Communications and Outreach Officer

Through INARA, USAID seeks to increase the supply of electricity generation at the community level and to increase the cost-effectiveness, eco-friendliness, sustainability, and reliability of power supply, while clarifying and strengthening the enabling environment for renewable energy-based electrical power generation.

The project will run for 5 years and started in September 2021. The position is based in Beirut, Lebanon. This position will start on November 9, 2021 as a consultancy contract, and then shift to a full-time employee contract after a trial period contingent on performance and USAID approval.

Role and Responsibilities

During the period of performance, the Communications and Outreach officer will perform the following activities in close coordination and cooperation with the INARA COP and team:

• Lead all communications and social media for INARA including websites, UTUBE, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, press releases and e-newsletters;
• Lead all INARA branding and outreach strategy and ensure compliance
• Lead drafting of all official reports, workplans, action plans and analysis of project impact
• Reviews and edits internal reports and provides training to staff on communication strategy
• Reviews and engages local media (TV, Print and Social) to ensure of the INARA project is well represented to the local communities and beneficiaries.
• Leads organization of public events, meetings, and trainings as needed.

Required  Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, or relevant disciplines. Master’s Degree preferred
• 6 years’ experience in the media and or public affairs sector
• Excellent social media skills
• Excellent English and Arabic writing skills
• Proven strong connections with local media and understand the Lebanon media context
• Previously worked on USAID projects and is aware of branding and marking requirements
• Ability to work in a team environment; fast paced and changing
• Cares about the mission of INARA and is dedicated to the success of this project.
• Fluent in English and Arabic
