Channel of Hope Coordinator (CoH) 75% FTE

 

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Provide leadership and technical assistance to Lebanon programs regarding the implementation of CoH models to promote maternal and child wellbeing.  
  • Lead and mentor national CoH MNCH training events and workshops.  
  • Provide supportive supervision to programs implementing CoH models. 
  • Responsible to develop and implement a mentorship strategy for trained CoH facilitators. 
  • Establish and manage a monitoring and evaluation system and processes. 
  • Assist in the development of workshop/training curricula and tools at the various levels of the CoH programs.  
  • Assist in the mobilization of resources through proposal writing support.

OTHER Competencies/Attributes: 

  • Must have experience in working in a multi-faith context and be competent in working with people from a variety of faiths. 
  • Attend and participate/lead in devotions and Chapel services and retreats. 
  • English fluency. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS  

  • Tertiary qualification (University degree preferred) in Theology, Social Sciences, Development, or Public Health. 
  • Project Management training and skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English, and ability to communicate cross-culturally and within inter-faith settings. 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in community development or protracted emergency response in health fields. 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in working with faith communities, either as a pastor/faith leader, or involved in faith-in-development work. 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in facilitation and mentoring of adult learning events (training, mentoring, development of training tools).  
  • Trained in facilitation skills, preferably trained as a CoH lead Trainer and Mentor. 
  • High-level computer literacy especially Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and ability to teach others.  
  • Leadership, management, and interpersonal communication skills with counseling skills.  
  • Extensive experience in working with churches and mosques and their leaders across denominations. 

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES  

  • Fluency in English, speaking, and writing 
  • Knowledge of and experience in working with and coordinating with government, international, and national partner organizations 
  • Ability to productively work in resource-limited settings, unstable and/or harsh environments 
  • Must be able to work independently while being a strong team player with proven management and leadership skills 
  • Very skilled at creating and monitoring budgets and making appropriate adjustments as necessary 
  • Very skilled at managing projects to satisfactory completion 
  • Moderately skilled with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software; basic familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and Access

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

The employee will spend time in the informal settlements which will include walking distances, standing to conduct training, sitting to listen, and the ability to interact with people of all kinds. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.   

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS  

Employee might be exposed to infectious diseases when working in informal settlements 

Employee should be well dressed in a way that fits the field environment and is obligated to wear Medical Teams special uniform (vest, t-shirts, ID, etc)
