The Knowledge Workshop (KW) is a feminist organization founded in 2015, an ongoing workshop for (re)searching women’s stories and histories, and for creating and making accessible feminist resources in Lebanon.
This year, KW is developing a book on the connections between feminism and environmentalism, with written and visual texts that explore personal, political, literary and socio-economic aspects of these fields.
The translator is expected to translate from English to Arabic, a range of texts from personal stories to research and oral history on ecology, environmentalism, gendered relations and eco-feminist approaches.
Expected timeframe for this position: November 2021-January 2022.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have:
- No less than four years of experience in the field of translation
- Familiarity with feminist writings in Arabic, and general knowledge of feminism
- Familiarity with and experience in translating writings on environmental topics
- A degree in translation is a plus
- Residing in Lebanon is important for this position, although a Lebanese nationality is not required.
