The intern will carry out the following specific tasks:
- Support DCC unit in the logistic/admin and technical planning, preparations, implementation and reporting of workshops and events.
- Working with the DCC unit members on the unit related reporting & monitoring tasks including minutes taking during meetings/teleconferences and the regular DCC newsletter.
- Liaise with other units and teams in the regional office on specific tasks ensuring effective working relationships with other personnel, including all other RC/RC Movement staff as necessary.
- Support the team day-to-day tasks including DCC members travel support and finance related aspects.
- Support and sustain the geographical focal points initiative within the team.
- Revise and update the regional training database and tracker.
- Finalise the DCC technical briefing package.
- Support the processing of translation and proof-reading tasks of technical materials.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of DCC technical capacity building menu in support of national societies.
- Maintain an inventory of the assets and equipment related to the unit including the rapid response mechanism equipment.
- Support the DCC Unit in preparing specific thematic research/discussion papers.
- Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager
Length of the assignment
The total duration of the assignment will be 6 months, starting in Nov 2021. The assignment is full time (5 days per week).
Qualifications
Education:
University Degree in one of the following: Social Science, business administration, Humanitarian Affairs or other relevant fields (Required)
Experience:
- Basic experience in writing papers and development of data collection (Required)
- Experience as a facilitator or trainer (Preferred)
- Work experience with other international organisations, large NGOs and/or governmental development agency (Preferred)
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of the humanitarian context (Required)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse cultural context (Required)
- Strong report-writing skills (Required)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) (Required)
Languages
- Fluently spoken and written Arabic & English (Required)
- Good command of another IFRC official language (French) (Preferred)
