Job Purpose: The Compliance Assistant will support to effectively conduct the tasks and requirements of International Medical Corps field-based compliance department in the country of operation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in following up and updating on the agreed upon compliance work plan
  • Help in the presentation of International Medical Corps Code of Conduct to various key stakeholders through trainings and/or other means. In collaboration with other departments facilitate training on fraud awareness and major donor compliance rules and regulation as necessary.
  • Assist Compliance Manager to effectively identify, document and mitigate compliance risks associated with program and operations activities.
  • Follow up on the Issue Log in coordination with compliance Manager for management agreed upon action plan that includes compliance recommendations to track their timely implementation. Exemplify the role model behavior when it comes to ethics and organizational values.
  • Supports the Compliance manager, conducting periodic reviews of applicable local laws (i.e. labor law, taxes, registration, etc.) to ensure compliance.
  • Supports and assists in periodic review of International Medical Corps warehouses to ensure compliance with stock, storage, receiving and exiting procedures.
  • Review of samples selected by the Compliance manager of procurement transactions to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures and donor regulations.
  • Attend the budget vs. actual meeting upon request from Compliance manager.
  • Assists in the Review of samples selected by Compliance manager of recruitments, onboarding, separations, performance appraisals and local handbook manuals to ensure their compliance with organizational policies and procedures, local laws and donor regulations as applicable.
  • Communicate periodically with management in order to verify progress made with regards to the compliance recommendations.
  • Respond to tasks as required by the Regional Compliance Coordinator in absence of Compliance manager.
  • Update the existing trackers in the e-binder.
  • Participate in the virtual regional compliance meetings in the absence of the compliance manager.
  • Any other assigned tasks by Compliance manager

Essential Qualifications:

  • Good know-how with Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Familiarity with various business controls (HR, Finance, Procurement, Logs, I.T, Program) is a plus
  • Education: University degree, preferably in Business Administration or related field. Language Skills: Local language and English with solid communication and writing skills

Essential Experience: 2 years of experience, preferably in a similar position.

Essential Competency: Strong time management, communication and follow up skills.
