The Global Health Institute at AUB is looking for a highly skilled creative graphic designer to join the team, with the ability to create effective eye-catching images and campaigns. The graphic designer is expected to be able to develop graphics both for print and digital platforms that convey messages in alignment with the work of the Institute. The candidate should possess a substantial portfolio of successful campaigns and is proficient with design software and technologies such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop.
The graphic designer will work on a variety of tasks including but not restricted to:
- Collaborating with team members on project concepts
- Determining appropriate content and messaging for graphic design pieces
- Developing product illustrations, logos, and other graphics and material as needed including social media posts, brochures, banners, foam boards, walls, cards, presentations, infographics, website, etc.
- Advising on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects
- Selecting colors, font, images, and layout
- Creating visualizations which convey accurate messaging and undertones as dictated by the project
- Presenting designs to relevant teams
- Implementing feedback and changes when appropriate
- Conducting quality assurance on designs to scan for errors
- Coordinating and following with outside agencies such as printing agencies and others to complete the production of the desired material.
Qualifications & Application
Required Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related field.
- Experience as a graphic designer or in related field.
- Experience with both print and electronic media.
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency with required software and tools such as such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop.
- A keen eye for visual composition, aesthetics, and details
- Exceptional creativity and innovation.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
- Able to work in teams and communicate effectively
- Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
