Health Coordinator - Delegation of the Qatar Red Crescent Society

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Establish and/or strengthen the accountability framework of the project.
  • Support the implementation of health activities.
  • Closely monitor the implementation of the project activities and use of monitoring tools by implementing partners.
  • Conduct regular field visits to the project sites to ensure proper implementation of the project activities.
  • Coordination with the Program Manager to prepare proposals and follow up on available funding opportunities.
  • Working on archiving all reports, projects and contracts that he works on.
  • Liaise with concerned authorities and ensure the programme strategy, objectives and activities are understood and agreed and appropriate communication channel is in place.
  • Be directly responsible for the technical guidance, management and implementation of the Health Programmes.
  • Ensure that minimum standards of technical quality are adhered to in all activities and interventions, which are technically appropriate, suitable for the given emergency stage, realistic, and on budget.
  • Identify bottlenecks and suggest corrective measurements.
  • Organize regularly evaluation meetings of team members.
  • Organize monthly meetings with the team and report the outcome to PM.
  • Prepare progress and final reports for all project activities.
  • Ensure contract deliverables are met as well as donor and management reports are accurate and timely.
  • Coordinate all project activities with other NGOs, UN Agencies as well as Government departments involved in the different sectors.
  • Advise on lessons sharing methods at programme, national and international levels to promote learning across the project and contribute to an overall impact assessment framework
  • Participate in sector meetings related to health.
  • Conduct regular meetings with other project staffs to discuss and document lessons learned.
  • Undertake all duties as and when necessary to fulfil the objectives of projects according to donor requirements and QRCS internal policies and procedures.
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by QRCS program manager in Lebanon.

Function Specific Experience

  • Experience in budget monitoring
  • Experience in project coordination including field supervision, monitoring and evaluation and reporting
  • Good understanding of delivering humanitarian response in insecure environments.
  • Experience across the entire project cycle from design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and in particular for projects and programs targeting vulnerable groups and those marginalized by mainstream services, such as refugees, older people and people living with disabilities.
  • Proven experience in preparing and managing project proposals for non-profit organizations.
  • Previous experience in issues related to health
  • Familiarity with program area is highly desired
  • Computer literate, especially MS Word and Excel
  • Good knowledge of data collection software and techniques especially Kobo Collect - Mobile Data Collection software.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English languages
  • Experience of team coordination
  • Advanced negotiation and communication skills
  • Analytical and critical thinking
  • Good judgement and decision-making skills

Industry Related Experience

  • Previous experience in working with NGOs
  • Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset
