WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) & NFIs (Non-Food Items) Coordinator - Delegation of the Qatar Red Crescent Society in Lebanon

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure the implementation of project activities in the field office defined by the Program Manager PM in coordination with staff attached with respective projects 
  • Organize internal and external forums for discussion at the field level on project performance and ensure coordination with stakeholders.
  • Create smooth working environment in all levels of the project area.
  • Liaise with concerned authorities and ensure the programme strategy, objectives and activities are understood and agreed and appropriate communication channel is in place
  • Organize regularly evaluation meetings of team members
  • Coordination with the Program Manager to prepare proposals and follow up on available funding opportunities.
  • Working on archiving all reports, projects and contracts.
  • Organize monthly meetings with the team and report the outcome to PM.
  • Ensure that lessons and best practices derived through implementation of project are well articulated and documented.
  • Coordinate with the relevant sectors and agencies in implementing wash activities at district and community level to identify areas and staffs for capacity building.
  • Be directly responsible for the technical guidance, management and implementation of the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and NFIs Programmes.
  • Effectively manage the WASH and NFIs projects using appropriate tools to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the expected quality.
  • Ensure that minimum standards of technical quality are adhered to in all activities and interventions, which are technically appropriate, suitable for the given emergency stage, realistic and on budget.
  • Establishing network with the INGOs, UN agencies, local authorities and other actors in the area (Wash, NFIs, etc.).
  • Liaise and coordinate with stakeholders wash clusters, UNICEF, ICRC and others in Lebanon. 
  • Develop productive working relationships with Non-Governmental institutions and other project partners.
  • Establishing linkage with community leaders and representatives.
  • Participate in the relevant sub-cluster meetings and other related forum at district or governorate level.
  • Conduct regular meetings with other project staffs to discuss and document lessons learned
  • Generate ideas to strengthen the development of WASH and NFIs projects in Lebanon
  • Conduct all duties in a professional manner following QRCS regulations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks on an on-going basis, and adapt to a shift or change in priorities, including the ability to work a flexible work schedule as needed to meet deliverable deadlines
  • Compile the weekly and monthly statistics and activity report and submit to PM
  • Report and communicate the progress and achievement of specific assigned objectives as per the project work plan and finalize reports with district government line offices and concerned institutions
  • Document and share lessons learnt in a comprehensive and detailed manner to enable track trends on changes on a timely basis
  • Provide written feedback when and if there is need to alter the project as appropriate to maximize impact

Function Specific Experience

  • Knowledge and practical experience in WASH and NFIs
  • Experience in budget monitoring
  • Management experience at project level
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce project documents
  • Ability to plan and organize work independently with appropriate follow up while paying close attention to detail and show initiative in completing tasks and projects in a timely manner
  • Ability to read and abstract information from a variety of sources/formats
  • Supervisory skills with proven ability to manage a demanding workload
  • Training provision and teamwork abilities
  • Previous experience working for conflict environment an asset
  • Understanding of delivering humanitarian response in insecure environments.
  • Experience across the entire project cycle from design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and in particular for projects and programs targeting vulnerable groups and those marginalized by mainstream services, such as refugees, older people and people living with disabilities.
  • Proven experience in preparing and managing project proposals for non-profit organizations.
  • Experience of team coordination
  • Computer literate, especially MS Word and Excel
  • Good knowledge of data collection software and techniques especially Kobo Collect - Mobile Data Collection software.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English languages

Industry Related Experience

  • Previous experience in working with NGOs
  • Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset
