Forecast based Financing (FbF) Project Officer

Main Role

The DRR Forecast based Financing (FbF Project) Officer will plan, coordinate and oversee the implementation of the forecast based financing Project. Moreover, s/he is also will also be in charge of ensuring relevant monitoring and reporting during the lifetime of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring proper planning of FbF related activities in coordination with relevant team members.
• Oversee the implementation of FbF activities.
• Responsible for collecting, reviewing and archiving reports and activities outputs.
• Develop interim and final narrative reports to donors in accordance with relevant templates, requirements and deadlines.
• Coordinate and follow-up with internal and external stakeholders for activities execution (i.e. feasibility study).
• Liaise and cooperate with expert organisations on aspects of FbF (such as Red Cross Climate Centre).
• Support and guide the process of the development and testing of one EAP, particularly by identifying relevant effective early actions and establishing procedures that allow their timely implementation once a forecast threshold has been reached. 
• Plan and coordinate various internal and external meetings and capacity building activities.
• Ensure collecting the lessons learnt and the best practices from the field and sharing them with the PMER team.

Function Specific Experience

• Experience in DRR and knowledge in FbF
• Experience in project cycle management
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically MS Word and Excel

Industry Related Experience:

• Previous experience in working with NGOs
• Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset
