Hygiene Promoter Assistant

SUMMARY

The Hygiene Promoter Assistant will be responsible for assisting the hygiene promoters in all the activities concerning hygiene and environmental communities’ awareness campaigns and vector control by demonstrations, sessions and surveys delivery.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure that technical quality and standards are considered during the HP planning and implementation as required.
  • Collect technical information base, middle and end of interventions (KAP, HCMT, Need Assessment) in ITSs and private accommodations to report to the HP team leader for the analysis of hygiene associated risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct community awareness sessions on hygiene, environmental, cleaning, solid waste management and vector control in the WaSH intervention locations in coordination with the HP team leader and under the supervision of the WaSH Coordinator.
  • Provide the refugee targeted population with technical inputs and guidance on water, sanitation and solid waste facilities management, use and maintenance.
  • Ensure that community/beneficiary feedback are collected and reported on regular basis.
  • Any other task not here listed and necessary to the projects achievement in the sector and area of assignment.
  • Request the essential material needed for hygiene activities from HP team leader.
  • Follow with the distribution processes of Hygiene Supplies based on need assessment.
  • Provide the necessary trainings to community WaSH volunteers or youth.
  • Provide daily/weekly reports, as requested from the HP team leader.
  • Contribute to data entry, as needed.

Training and Capacity Building:

  1. Attend all trainings planned and evaluate these trainings.
  2. Suggest any topic for future trainings based on the needed skill or knowledge.

General Policies:

  1. Follow the general policies, code of conduct, Child Safeguarding policy.
  2. Adhere to the PSEA policy.
  3. Abide by the values and principles of all policies set by the organization.
  4. Perform other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

EDUCATION

Bachelor degree in social work or any related field.

Minimum of 1 year experience working as Hygiene Promoter or related field, Previous work in NGOs will be an asset.

 

SKILLS

  • Ability to work effectively under stress in emergency and other situations.
  • Strong analytical skills, solid reporting methods.
  • Solid commend of fluent English spoken and written is a must.
  • Committed to equality and social inclusion.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • High confidentiality, respect, and non-discrimination attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Team player, flexible, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting.
  • High level of planning and organizing (ability to meet deadlines).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively with others.
